October 2019 Lecturer’s Note

It’s always good to see Knights in action serving as ushers, readers, and cantors at the mass. October will present us with many opportunities to show our “Faith in Action”. Please take advantage of them and make them family events. Vivat Jesu!

  • Reconciliation: Wednesday October 2nd from 6:30pm-7:30pm
  • 40-Hour Devotion: Friday, October 25th – Sunday October 27th 8am mass
  • Parish Picnic: Sunday October 27th after the 11:30am mass
  • Trunk or Treat: Sunday October 27th from 4-6pm in the Parish parking lot

Just a quick note on praying the rosary from the USCCB:

“The repetition in the Rosary is meant to lead one into restful and contemplative prayer related to each Mystery. The gentle repetition of the words helps us to enter into the silence of our hearts, where Christ’s spirit dwells. The Rosary can be said privately or with a group.”

I’ve heard many times that I was saying the rosary too fast, when in fact, it is the repetition which allows us to reflect on the Mystery. Let us keep praying our rosary. Thanks be to God.
